The update seems to be mostly under an under the hood performance update. My fire does run smoother, smoother scrolling for sure, so that's nice. The touch sensitivity seems better too. I used to have to hit buttons more than once sometimes.
The obvious changes you can see are the data separations, the ability to remove items from the carousel, although they are put back when you open them again. There's really no customization at all so that was disappointing. There's also the option to lock wifi access. Also, archived book no longer show up on the carousel.
