Having worked in the Electronics department at Target, I can assure you that they do not get proper training on any of the devices there. Luckily, I knew a lot about electronics and was able to provide decent customer service. If you get in good with vendors, you might learn a little more about the products, but again, there is no kind of training whatsoever. I'm willing to bet that it is that way at BB also. I'm miffed about the way they are positioning the T1 there. Almost like they have some kind of side deal with B&N and Amazon. At my local BB, it's mainly IPads that they are pushing and pushing hard.
I almost forgot - at Target the saying is "Can I help you find something?" That drive that into employees until you are blue in the face.
