Is the date set correctly on your device? The library book will expire when your checkout time is up. But if the date isn't correct, or if you keep setting the date back, the book will never expire. When you sync the Reader, it will automatically sync the date and time as well.
So, if you want to keep a library book for a longer time, just keep changing the date on the Reader and don't plug it in a computer.
