Yes, that is a puzzle. The same publisher too. I seem to recall some mention that Kobo (until recently) wouldn't do DRM-free ebooks. But it seems to have DRM in the
Kindle store too.
I guess only the publisher could tell you. At least, someone at the publisher. But finding the right person to ask might be tricky.
Buy the non-DRM one!
