When I was young and naive, I would invariably use my real name on various forums and boards. (Mind you, this was when there were only ten - maybe fifteen on a good day - of us on the internet. )

Since we passed the several hundred million mark in web users, I've discovered the joy and value of anonymity in being able to freely share my (occasionally) acerbic or controversial positions on various topics while protecting my privacy and professional reputation. (And it allowed me to "publish" some of my more... colorful strictly-for-fun writing in ways completely disconnected from the very corporate and straight-laced stuff that I get paid to pen.) Thus, anywhere I choose to remain anonymous, I've been using "cklls" in homage to the first piece of "literary" fiction that captured my attention as a kid: Clark Kent Lois Lane Superman
