OP, if the edge isn't working for you, you should get rid of it. I definitely agree that the edge is not for the faint of heart. I primarily use mine for playing with android things, or when I want a screen bigger than my phone. I think because of all the problems with the edge, only developers and really patient people who want to learn about Android should bother with it. Or people who have close family that fit the above.

I've had several random problems with my edge, and I enjoyed the complexity required to fix it, but most people won't.
