The PRS-350 for $79 would be a good deal, and I'd risk the refurbished for that price. Refurbished often means someone opened the box and returned it and it had no usage, or if there was some defect, it was sent back and fixed. Either way it should be reliable.
I don't think the 300 though would be worth it. It has the older screen which isn't as good as current e-ink screens, and no touch ability.
