I have Windows 7 Pro, not Linux. I guess I'd be prepared to do a simple command line thingie in command.com under Windows that pointed at a Vox drive over USB but I don't want to root the Vox.

In order to load the working Netflix app, do I need to have the Market app from Google installed? Which, since the Vox is not recognised, can't be done in Canada?

I don't have a problem loading any non-official apps, but I am not comfortable doing something as drastic (albeit reversible) as rooting.
You don't need to root your device or use Linux. You just need to install the latest Netflix apk (if you install an older one it'll have to do an update).

PM me if you're having trouble finding the apk.
