Give her Calibre Portable (to Run directly) on that HD, all (100%) set up.

Installing Calibre is not that hard (Be prepared for lots of hand holding, if this person considers calibre's installation difficult)

Depending on the Reader and other considerations, those configurations can be more difficult than the base installation.
