The complete works of Shakespeare are free at Gutenberg. What you're looking for is not "the classics;" it's an adaptation of the classics to a more modern form of literature.



There are free versions.

Shakespeare Right Now has free ebook novelizations of several plays. (I'd've listed them earlier but I didn't find a direct link; they were mentioned in a forum somewhere.)
