I've meant to do this for such a long time, but life does get in the way, especially when you are disabled. Oh, and you can call me Cate since Mr. Underhill is an alias for my darling Yorkie, Frodo.

I'm generally bedridden, which gives me lots of time to read. Sadly, I do live in the West of Ireland where broadband is in short supply, and I've been living rural until recently.

I'd hoped to start uploading my library now that I have more than .333MBs, but my house burned down a fortnight ago, taking everything, and I do mean everything down to my last sock with it. But at least the living survived.

So for a while, I'm going to be a major leech, but with a purpose, for I want to put together complete collections & series--that's what I had before the inferno. I read everything except sports, cars, porn, anything overtly exploiting women, etc. I love historical fiction other that the nautical variety, so any suggestions would be most welcome.

I'm still in recovery from smoke inhalation and gall bladder surgery, so please pardon my "all over the place" style--it's not typical of me, a former U of T English prof. The "T" is for Texas, not Tennessee, and yes, I'm a bona fide Texan--11th generation, but I've been in Ireland for 10 years, I'm a citizen, and if not for the weather, it would be home.
