Formatting for EPub

Do the formatting options on the Kobo Touch work for side-loaded epubs?

I was looking at a Kobo in a store last night, and I liked all the formatting options: font, font size, line spacing, margins, justification. In general, do these work with side-loaded epubs (I'm assuming they work with kepubs)?

If I buy a ADE EPub, strip the DRM, and side load it onto the Kobo Touch, will I be able to use the formatting options? I currently use Calibre to do some formatting, and I do have problems on other readers (for example, I can't change the font face/name on a Nook Touch for some EPubs).

Thanks.
