My name is Alan and I bought a new Entourage Pocket Edge from Walmart.com last week. This was a replacement for a Velocity Cruz T103 that died after 3 weeks of use (nothing fancy, no hacking or cracking or anything like that, it just died)
During the wait for my PE, I did a lot of Googling to find out it's stengths and weaknesses. Company out of bus: weakness obviously. Dual screens: definite strength.
What I particularly like about it is it's wealth of connectivity options.
1. Dual USB ports (a little tethering one plus a REAL USB-A powered connection, that supports flashdrives, keyboards (for sure) and probably much more (will have to test other devices). It will even charge my electric ciggie LOL
2. WIFI
3. Bluetooth (not even in the writeups, but enabled BT and sure enough it finds my cellphone)
What I was not particularly in love with was:
1. Android 1.6os kinda old and really limited my apps installations
2. Google apps were, for some reason, blocked
3. Android Market did not recognize the unit and, therefore, unable to download anything from them.
So here's what I did to make it more "user friendly"
1. Reflashed the OS to Android 2.2 (Ermine/Frodo) .. I was then able to download and install apps from such places as Soc.io Mall, Getjar and Amazon App Store. Still, no Android Market or Google Apps
2. To solve probs, tonite I reflashed it to include allmine and gapps
WOW!! I have a real Android tablet with dual screens and all, for only 99 bucks
So far, so good LOL
