Ah but how do you know if you lost it or it was stolen? You are at the airport. You think you put your Kindle in your bag but it is not there when you get home. You know you had it on the plane. You think you put it in your carry on getting off the plane or did you leave it in the seat pocket? Did someone lift it out of your bag when you were picking up your luggage?

The reality it that it is pretty easy for things to be stolen from most of our bags.

If my Kindle goes missing it is reported to Amazon. My Kindle has been named with my name and phone number. Anyone who finds it should have the decency to call me and let me know that they found it. If they didn't, then they will have a device that is not fully functional.
