Come on, I know we all have our biases, but this is fanboyish-behavior.

SONY makes a big deal about how you can use the T1 to download books directly, without the need for a PC. Yet, you need a PC to make it work in first place. And, if you live outside of North America, you need a PC to authorize the device as well. That, by itself, should not be the case. And no-one should have to jump through hoops to get anything to work in the first place.

In general, I am starting to feel frustrated about how much 'work' is involved in having a functional ebook reader. Read forums, install patches, deal with bugs, contact CS, download PRS+... it's all starting to feel like a lot of work, which a customer should not have to deal with. We are talking about a device that displays text, for heaven's sake, it's 2011... Why can't anyone get it right? And yes, I am not claiming SONY is alone here - the Kindle Touch is clearly a disappointing - to me, and to many others - device as well.

Really - the more I think about it - the more I hope Apple decides to enter the ebook reader market soon. Because this feels like MP3 players pre-Apple.

I know they won't. But I can dream, can't I?
