I have sympathy for anyone that loses or breaks something that means a lot to them. I only laughed at the comment from the person who said to go back to paper books because it was funny. If you go through multiple readers because you're clumsy and drop them and then step on them well......mabye an ereader isn't for you then.

Accidents do happen yes but we all have our own needs & preferences. If I was going to be reading while taking public transit or read while I walked I'd probably consider a case that would hold it in. I don't have need for that & I'm comfortable enough with how & where I read to know I don't need it.

If something happens & I do drop it while it's naked from a height of less than 3 feet while sitting in a chair or bed, well, I'll deal with the consequences won't I? It still doesn't mean it's a bad idea. Everybody's needs & preferences are different.
