If PDF usage is important, then IMHO the 650 performs here better than the T1, though both of course are far from perfect for complex PDFs (but the T1 borders on unusable). Also, the 650 is more stable as it appears that the latest firmware fix for the T1 is far from perfect, as the 650 has mature software, while the T1 has quite new software (first Sony reader with Android). Of course, if WIFI is very important to you, then the 650 is at a marked disadvantage. Rooting doesn't help for PDFs as far as I know, as the applications (ezPDF) are not made for eInk and there is a LOT of flashing. I also must admit that the T1 contrast as a bit higher than my 950's contrast. I have not changed fonts on my 950 yet, and I look forward to a up and coming PRS+ which will allow for one level of sub-collections.
