Take them out of the oven sooner or she might be baking them at too high a temperature.
My Mom is a very good cook and baker but she cannot make brownies to save her life. I swear, she can put them in the over for 15 minutes and they are over cooked. It is really impressive. Dad is the brownie maker in the family.
