For me it can depend on the type of book. If I feel that the author is trying to write in an authentic manner then I'm going to be more anal about mistakes (if I see them). However, for novels that are clearly fantasy I tend to gloss over some errors as creative license.

I didn't know that Spain had a monarch - perhaps because I'm stupid. But if I'd stopped to check for any reason and discovered this information I would have been rather unforgiving of the error.
