Mine does this constantly, and I've only had it a couple of weeks.
It even does it when it's just sitting there not being touched... suddenly it needs to be reset. I reckon I've reset it more than a dozen times. The people at Sony told me to do the update but of course, it's for Windows and I have Linux. It would have been great if the bloody thing had just worked!!
