I may be wrong (Harry will correct me if so) but I think the 'new and improved cover' that James Franks refers to is in actuality a newer casing for the device rather than the separate cover.

This from the Bookeen site:

So I think the email was referring to the new housing (casing) rather than the cover. Perhaps the meaning was "Lost in Translation"?
