Prices fluctuate on items all the time. Any item is only worth what you are willing to pay for it.

Additionally, unless they

(1) were researching it at the time of the sale
(2) got the email about the price reduction
or
(3) delve far enough into their research to find a thread like this about the sale

there is no way they would even know the price had dropped for a short period of time.
