I ended up having to call Amazon Customer Service about my sister's Fire because the app that I deleted both out of her cloud and off of her device popped back up on the notification bar in an endless "preparing to install" screen -- again.

A very nice experience. He had me check a few of the things that I had already done, I think just to make sure I had actually done all the steps to get rid of the app. What finally worked was to go to Settings/More/Applications/All Applications, and then choose "Amazon Appstore." I had tried "Apps" at that point and I had tried "AppManager", but I hadn't tried Appstore. He had me clear data on that screen, then restart it. It worked, at least for the moment. I have to say I was impressed with (1) the fact that I didn't have any wait at all before someone answered the phone, and (2) the fact that he didn't seem to be working from a script like so many customer service reps are -- he was actually listening to me. No time wasted at all, and he was very friendly. Oh, how I wish AT&T customer service was like this!
