If I encounter a vertical bar pipe character "|" in the text I want to replace, how do I set it off to be normal text, not an actual pipeline command????

Test highlights up to the | but nothing after it.
I've tried putting a backslash in front of it as the Help manual suggests, but then I lose the entire line when clicking Test.
