Then still on my pc I change that note.txt and save it. Then I put back that
card to the reader and under Applications I want to read the changed file.
BUT Text Memos still shows me the file with the old text. Even if I delete the
new txt file from the SD card, it still shows me that (old) file.

Does it mean we have still on the internal memory a cache for every SD file?
How can I change txt files on a pc and then continue to edit them on the reader?

Perhaps you can give me some hints.
Thanks!
Hi steman,

The SaveNotepadData addon simply hooks into the save process and "steals" the data and saves it off somewhere else. It does not stop the reader's usual save process. So there will be two copies of the information on your reader: one is a TXT file, the other is a Sony Reader .NOTE file.

But you got me thinking, so I have added an option to SaveNotepadData that allows you to override a Text Memo with the contents of a TXT file (of the same name) if the TXT file has been changed. Basically, in the situation you describe, when you click on the Text Memo, you will see the contents of the TXT file with the changes. (But, unless you edit and then save the note, the .NOTE file on the reader won't be changed.)

You can actually turn the "Override Text Memo with TXT File" option off, and then when you click on the Text Memo you will see the original content of the .NOTE file. Turn the option on, click on the Text Memo again, and you will see the contents of the TXT file (if it is different to the note).

But then if you save the Text Memo, the TXT file will also be overwritten, bringing the two into sync again.

Does this make sense? Is this what you were hoping for?

Sincerely,
Ben.
