For reference to other people who may find this info useful, I sold the Kindle 2 at Amazon Marketplace. Here is the cost breakdown:
Buyer's price: $105.00
Shipping: $5.49
Amazon commission: -$17.18 (to me it seems like Amazon robbed me by charging so much)
Your earnings: $93.31
However I screwed that up by choosing Fedex to ship, figuring my employee discount would make it a cheaper option. It cost me:
13.50 to ship
4.99 for a Fedex office employee to box it in 12x9x6 box, add packing paper and tape it up(the employee said he would not le me ship it in the retail box tapped up, USPS likely would have)
.35 tax
Total 18.84
So 93.31 - 18.84 = 74.47
What would have been a better shipping option?
