For me, the lookup procedure would be like watching a DVD and putting it on 'pause' every few minutes to go to the kitchen for a snack. When I read, the individual words disappear and a movie is playing in my head. I literally "see" characters, scenes, etc., and not words on a page.
So far, it appears that I'm in the minority. :^(
