It's Chapter 38 from the "Tao Te Ching" of Lau Tzu (or Laotse, Lo-shi, or several other translations of the concept "Wise older person." It's generally believed NOT to be one person.)

I have roughly 14 different translations of this work (which is also called "Dao De Ching," "Dao De Qing," and about 6 other groups of sound.) And in keeping with THAT, the various translations of Chapter 38 that I have number 14 as well.

Most do NOT sum it all up as clearly as yours...

(Isn't it nice to have a Taoist in the house! )
