I pretty much use Firefox only. I do use Chrome occasionally, but I have not used IE in ages.
I find these results very interesting. In the period from about 1997 to 2002 I was doing programming at a Internet start-up company that provided online courses and a learning management system for training at various companies. We tracked the browser use by customers to try and accommodate what the customers were using. This was back when the two major browsers were IE and Netscape Navigator, and both were still engaged in the annoying business of coming up with new and incompatible improvements. So the breakdown at that time generally ran 65-70% IE, 25-30% NN, and about 5% other (that we did not try and separate out). Now I expect that at the time the high use of IE was because browser choice was set by the IT departments of the companies. Still looking at these results I can help but marvel at how the mighty has fallen.
I agree with others that it would have been nice to include an “other” option in this poll.
