Oh, this one was a PRS-T1 in white. Well I'll be able to reuse the cover and the memory card.

Dude you need to be more careful. If you are going to spend over a hundred dollars on a device you shouldnt be dropping them. If I was you I wouldnt let stuff like this leave your bedroom or a carpeted area. Just use the reader when in bed or on the couch. Dont walk around all over with it if you have butterfingers or manage to put to much pressure on the screen. DEFINTELY dont take it out of the house.
Seriously, you should be getting at least two years out of these devices. Not 1 year and definitely not as short a time as the t1 has been out.
As for reusing the cover. For what??? You will have to get a new device.(yes you can reuse the card) Just toss the busted T1 in the trash because its no good.
Look into a good protective case for your next one. I would wrap that thing in a silicon case and than a book cover and for extra measure wrap it up in all up in plastic wrap. It will be clumsy proof. Trust me.
