I don't know if anyone has tried this with their 'root' T1 but Dolphin Browser has a plugin called "Dolphin Reader". What it does is display the page in a reader friendly format by taking away some of the page original style (i.e., removing the background color and images, etc.) It also has 3 viewing modes (Normal, Night Mode, and Olive).

The text font size also get reformat into a more readable size as well.

Maybe someone who owns a T1 can try it out.
