These sorts of posts are what really make me nervous...(sorry to hear about your story by the way)
If this is simply a software issue, I think I will wait for the necessary patch(s). My concern is that there are problems with both the hardware and the software. I don't want to be stuck holding the bag in 31 days when the unit crashes and burns.
Any tech-savvy folk out there who can offer some insight would sure be appreciated.
