That's part of the DRM. You can delete that line from every file it's in.
Does it display properly using Adobe Digital Editions? If it does, you can download BlueFire Reader and use that to read this ePub on your iPad.
iBooks does some non-standard things and some things don't work as expected. Maybe that's the problem. Bluefire Reader uses a version of ADE so if it works in ADE for the computer, it should work in BlueFire.
