Thanks for the explanation. I'm always fascinated by how people do their reading/organize their libraries etc...I knew you were a denizen here and couldn't square it in my mind why you were doing things in such a seemingly roundabout way when there was an OBVIOUSLY much more straightforward way to get books into your device.

I had the same problem with calibre2opds that you had with slow updating/uploading changes to your catalog. That's why I prefer to get my books via the content server since my laptop is rarely ever turned off when I'm home. Calibre2opds/dropbox combo is a nice back-up access to my books for when I'm not home.

I tried things your way but didn't like the dropbox app because I was never able to figure out how to download a complete folder or multiple files from it (I find dropbox so much better when I use my web browser). Actually, dissatisfaction with the dropbox app is what finally drove me into figuring out how to use Calibre's content server. Now with wifi file explorer app and my Calibre library set up as a shared folder, transferring content between my nook color and my laptop via usb is soooo totally like, 3 months ago.

As I learn about new things such as how to use the content server, calibre2opds, and more recently, the kindle collections plugin for calibre, (woohoo!) I forget that I'm still quite the newbie to ereading compared to the vast majority of others on this board. That's one of the many reasons why I love mobileread - y'all's willingness to explain things to me!

Thanks again!
Dropsync app will sync folders with your Dropbox on your Android device. You might want to look into that.

You can also use the LAN feature on ES File Explorer to access folders on your PC. I like it better than WiFi Explorer Pro which I also have.

I have a Kindle Fire but I use Mantano on it. I don't care for the Kindle app. Mantano is where it is at!

I upload all my epubs and mobi files onto dropbox in different folders. They are named like this.
Author - [Series 01] - Title.epub I use Calibre to do this so any book I save to disk it automatically names it for me.
