Free story (Kindle UK) Cursed: A Jack Nightingale Short [Supernatural Mystery]

Cursed: A Jack Nightingale Short by Stephen Leather, is a supernatural ex-cop PI tale who presumably has his own series with a new book coming out soon, free courtesy of Hodder Stoughton.

Free to pre-order @ Amazon UK (slated for Dec 20th). Wouldn't expect to see this elsewhere, as Hodder is a UK publisher.

UK buyers can also pick up one of Leather's novels really cheaply: Hard Landing: The First Spider Shepard Thriller, also published by Hodder, is a mere £0.49, less than 1/10th of the paperback cost. I thoroughly approve of this e-book pricing scheme.

Just so non-UK readers don't feel left out, Leather offers a free short story via Smashwords: Inspector Zhang Gets His Wish, a murder mystery featuring a Singapore cop.

Description
Ex-cop turned private eye Jack Nightingale is used to dealing with tricky situations. He's faced down the powers of hell a couple of times, too. Then he's called in to help a policeman who's lying at death's door. The doctors can't work out what's wrong.

But the dying man's colleagues swear blind that he was cursed by a gypsy during the Dale Farm clearance. And Nightingale could be his only hope.
