Then any decent editor would be wrong.
You could go up a hill to get water, even in the days before modern plumbing. For example you might have to get the water over the hill so you have 2 teams, one getting the water up the one side, and Jack on the other side bringing it down. Also could have rain catching buckets up there and they are full, time to fetch them. Etc, and so one.
