That sounds more like an apologist statement than a true justification.
*Some* apps might not work without camera, so we will prevent you from getting *any* apps? Just so you don't get 'frustrated'? How considerate of them.
That's like a car manufacturer arguing that since some people might use the rear-view mirror for vanity, causing a safety hazard, we're gonna go ahead and remove all mirrors from our cars. All in your best interests, of course.
