I have many preferred authors and several preferred genres.
Still, once upon a time I had none.
If I had limited myself at an early age to a few favorite genres, I would still be reading only fairy tales and comic books.

There are thousands of books I would like to read based only on authors I like.

Still I tend to veer of into uncharted territory quite often and generally I am pleased with the result.
