Of the ones you mention, I'd recommend the Kindle for anyone in the UK. Mainly because of their terrific customer service. Having said that, I did read somewhere that they might not be quite as generous with replacements for the new models as they have been with the Kindle 3 models.

Have you considered getting the CyBook Opus? Granted, it's not the most up-to-date ebook reader, using visiplex eInk rather than pearl eInk, but it is hi-res (200dpi), and is currently only £50 from Waterstones!

Oh - and it also reads ePub. (& mobipocket if you switch to the other official firmware.)
