Do we even know the intent of the study? It wasn't clear to me. Google has irons in a lot of fires. Hard to say how useful the study was without knowing why it was commissioned.

One of the conclusions was that most tablets do not leave the home. Again, tv hardware vs phones vs game consoles vs laptops vs desktop computers. Perhaps Google was trying to figure out if launching a tablet targeted interface or app would increase sales or market share?

Go back and click through to the Google article, if you haven't done that, and click through to their previous research. My impression is that they are wondering if they will lose 'mind share' if their tools are not easy to use on a tablet.
