I regularly use Tesco's to deliver my groceries. Normally I would have everything delivered on a Monday, but for some reason I had decided on Thursdayfor this particular shop (probably out of food!). As it was cheaper, I opted for the 20:00-22:00 slot. at 21:50 there was still nothing so I called up customer services as I hadn't received a call to say the driver would be late. I was told that there had been a problem with the van that my delivery was on and as such it was on a different one so they couldn't tell me when it was expected to arrive.

22:30, still no food - so another call. Told it should be with me within half an hour.
23:00, still waiting - yet another call. Told that as it was gone 11, the driver would have gone home.

Friday morning I call up again. After apologies, I was told that my delivery would be with me around 18:30 that evening. At around 17:00 I call up to confirm and am assured that my food was on the van and due to be with me at the allotted time.

18:30 - nothing. More calls to be told that the Store Manager didn't know which van everything had gone out with but it should be with me.

Various phone calls later and I am still waiting. Naturally, nothing arrived

Saturday morning I was told that the Store manager would call me up. He didn't. After chasing, I eventually got a phone call. All the manager could do was apologise to me - naturally I had really issue with him as he wasn't on duty the previous night. Eventually he told me that the van driver had refused to take my delivery because it would make him late - and they stop delivering at 23:00.

I was so angry - why had I constantly been told the previous day that my delivery was on a van when this was a blatant lie?

During all of the phone calls, I was offered vouchers so I managed to collect £40 worth which I happily spent on my next shop with them - I have since not ordered food from them (but not because of this incident - just have been going to the local supermarket instead).

The main reason I shop online is it saves me money - I don't pick up things on impulse. After all the hassle I had with that shop, I think the thing that annoyed me more than anything else is that I ended up spending double the amount because of those impulse buys....
