When it comes to fiction, I tend to stick to a fe genres that I like and certain authors. I will try a new author in the genres I like but I do not seem to have the tolerance to try new authors who write in genres that aren't my favorites.

I also note that the same holds true as regards nonfiction -- that is, I stick within certain genres -- although I do not have favorite authors whose work I always buy. I will read, for example, biography, but not autobiography or self-help.
