If it was bought online from Sony it would probably be okay if there was a problem to send it back but I have heard not so good things about Play.com customer services and Comet haven't got that good reputation either.
I know I am being a bit negative but I have regular problems dealing with customer services by phone and online these days.

Ideally I too would have liked to try one before I bought. But I did order via my nearest (35 miles and 2 bus trips away) Sony Centre. In the event of real problems I can always bite the bullet, take the bus, and give it back to them
