YES! Thank you my friend. You've now lead me down the path to the treasure, so that I may decode it's many intricate twists and turns, and return to the people with riches untold for centuries...

Or at least that's how I'm feeling right now.

I tried as you suggested, and tried some creative tweaking, and am no longer getting the "this is your power button" image on shutdown. I'm not quite getting the image I chose to use as a test image, but with time and trial I believe I'll get there. The system does now however exhibit the behavior as described by the helpful fellow earlier (The system set wallpaper remains through the shutdown process, which is better than nothing indeed).

I'll look into it further, it may be possible that the PE and EE images are to have different heads or somesuch, but the image I got out of the file was... quite distorted, like the individual lines weren't the right length, making the columns line up odd.
