The Nook is okay.
The Sony-T1 is probably the best built and the best quality. It probably has the best screen. It's had some instability issues, but Sony is releasing a patch addressing it at the end of the month.
I wouldn't bother with a Kobo.

All of these have exactly the same screen. And to say that the Kindle Touch has problems, but downplay the Sony's problems is disengenuous at best.
In general, the Kindle, Sony and Kobo are all excellent eReaders. The Nook isn't a good choice outside of the US. All share the same screen. It's features, infrastructure, and price after that.
