New PE owner here, got from the Walmart deal. I am amazed with the product. I'd rather have a Droid tablet, but don't have the money for one of those. I really wanted a laptop, but once I saw this, figured it was a solution since all I really need is something to read books with and write notes (hooking-up a keyboard was what sold me).
I at first had problem with rooting, trying to get the Amazon App store loaded first and just kept messing around, but then found this website, flashed my PE, and then updated the firmware to 2.2. I am still trying to figure it out and make the most out of it, but I have read the horror stories of the BSOW, so I am trying to configure little as possible. I am happy that I have access to 300 of my Amazon apps for this device.
I am glad there is a community for this device, as amongst my geeky friends, I am the only one who is aware of this (though prior to black friday deals of Walmart, I was never aware of this device).
