There is an apk(install file) of the Amazon Prime App floating around. It will allow you to watch Amazon Prime movies from the App. I've not tried it but the thread at XDA says they where able to watch the movie from the A100. ( link)
I can't answer the question about the HDMI since I've not tried it. However if the movie is 780p it should handle it just fine.

Thanks for the link =X=, I loaded the APK on my SGT, and it opens fine, and browses titles. I won't know if it works until I get my cable modem working again. I've been without broadband at home for nearly a week now. Larry, The Cable Guy is supposed to be out tomorrow to fix it.
The guys at XDA say it doesn't work on 3g, so... With a 3 GB account on VZW, I can't afford to watch many movies on 3G anyway.

AND my Visio TV can do Amazon flix, I’ll be ready to spring for an Amazon Prime account to supplement my Netfilx one
