Can anyone manufacture something that will never fail? The companies should be expected to do due diligence to create a good product, but they cannot be held responsible for the failure of one unit of thousands. If hundreds blow up then yes but electronics fail from time to time.
This isn't the first battery to have a problem IF IT WAS THE BATTERY THAT FAILED. Laptop batteries cause problems, D cells can go bad and do similar things.
