My friend here bought one. Kinda unresponsive touch display, to the point of feeling a bit like laggy resistive tech.
People wishing to use it as a general-purpose tablet are in for disapointment. Got no camera, possibly no gyroscope, plays exclusively mp4 movies etc. My gosh, an Android device without the gorgeous swype input method (probably wouldn't play nicely with the bad touch display anyway)!
Now I see why it's cheap. Probably hardware not much better than the infamous Coby Kyros. Only more focused and integrated with Amazon services.
People from other countries stay away, at least for now. Here in Brazil, Amazon store not available at all. You use it just as a limited, cheap and small tablet for reading PDF (with stuttering page changes), perhaps a few other formats and videos and photos, along with perhaps some basic music playback.
That is my quick impression from some minutes handling it. He's wishing to root it and put a full Android in there, since Amazon integration is useless here. I hope the hardware is up to the task.
