Thanks for that full answer, I hadn't noticed several of those features. Another benefit, I would think, is that you get more
usable RAM in these devices. Cellphones use up some RAM for the phone, and for cellphone-provider crapware (hello, Verizon). I consider 512 MB RAM in an Android cellphone too low. In a media device it might be fine.
